Our Staff

The Students' Association employs staff to run the various services we operate, and to provide advice to committee in their decision making. All of the staff of the Students' Association can be reached on (02) 6201-2000.

Matt Lawrence
Executive Director

Matt was employed as the Executive Director of the Students' Association in 2007. Prior to that he had been employed at the students' Association between 2002 and 2005 as the Research and Advocacy Manager, leaving only because of the introduction of VSU.

Marc Emerson
Advocacy Officer

Marc was employed as the Advocacy Officer of the Students' Association in 2007 at the conclusion of his term as President. His experience in student advocacy spans over 5 years. Marc has an intimate knowledge of the university, it's panels, and committees, having been a member of many of them during his term as a member of the University of Canberra Council.

Betty Hocking
Finance Officer

Betty prepares the accounts of the Students' Association, and has done so since 2007. Betty is responsible for keeping the books in order, and more recently chasing after money owed by residents of Arscott House and ensuring the bills get paid on time. You will sometimes find Betty on the front desk.

Terry Rivers
Reception

Terry can be found at the Front Desk of the Students' Association. He is a keen X Box player, and can often be convinced to join in a multi player game. He is likely the first face you will see in the SA, and can sometimes be found working down at Arscott House.
